Privacy Policy — Hang In There

Hang In There (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a hangboard / grip-training app for Apple Watch and iPhone. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.

The short version

• The app has no accounts and no servers of our own. Your training data lives on your device and syncs only to your own paired iPhone over Apple’s encrypted device link.
• We do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
• The app is ad-free — it shows no ads and includes no advertising SDKs.
• Heart-rate data from Apple Health is used only to show your effort during a hang. We never save it to the Health app and it never leaves your device.
• Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store.

Information the app handles, and why

Training data (stored on your device)

Your hangs, combos, grips, durations, and related training history are stored locally on your Apple Watch and iPhone. They sync between your own paired devices using Apple’s WatchConnectivity. This data is not sent to us or to any server.

Health data (Apple HealthKit)

With your permission, the app reads your heart rate during a hang and runs a workout session on your Apple Watch (the workout session is what keeps the timer alive while your wrist is overhead).

• Heart-rate values are stored only inside the app’s local training records on your device.
• We discard every workout session — nothing is written to the Apple Health app or your Activity rings.
• We never use Health data for advertising or marketing, and we never share it with third parties.
• Granting Health access is optional; the app works without it (you just won’t see heart rate). You can change or revoke access at any time in the Apple Health app.

Purchases (Apple StoreKit)

If you buy Hang In There Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. We only learn from Apple whether your subscription or one-time purchase is active, so the app can unlock Pro features.

Advertising

The app is ad-free. It displays no ads, includes no advertising or ad-attribution SDKs, and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). There is no App Tracking Transparency prompt because the app does not track you.

What we do not collect

We do not create accounts, we do not run analytics servers, we do not collect your name, email, or location, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

How your data is shared

We do not sell or rent your data. Data is only ever handled by:

• Apple — for on-device storage, HealthKit, and App Store purchases (governed by Apple’s privacy policy).

Storage, security, and retention

Your training and health data stay on your devices and are protected by the device’s own security (passcode/biometrics and Apple’s on-device encryption). Because the data is local, it is retained until you delete it — deleting a record in the app, or deleting the app from your devices, removes the associated data from that device.

Your choices and rights

• Heart rate / Health: grant, change, or revoke access in the Apple Health app at any time.
• Remove your data: delete individual records in the app, or delete the app to remove its local data from a device.
• Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have additional rights over your personal data. Since we hold no personal data on our own servers, most data stays under your control on your device; contact us with any request.

Children’s privacy

Hang In There is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

International users

The app is available in multiple regions and languages. Apple may process limited data in its own jurisdictions per its policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
